In my last Swan Song update I had just finished a massive hyper focus session and submitted the app to the Google Play store. Well… 4 days later the app is live on Google Play! 🙂

So now I’m feeling a little cocky and I’m thinking what the hell…. I might as well go for platform #3 and see if we can get it released on the Amazon platform for their Fire devices. I build a version just for the Amazon app store, get some media together, yada… yada.. yada.. and submit the app to Amazon.

I get a response it will take 7 days before I get a response. No prob, I’m used to it. I’ve had dozens of apps on the Amazon app store. It’s a strange app store, at least for me. You can have little to no activity on your apps and then all of a sudden… boom.. 1000s of downloads, 1000s of sales. And then… it goes quiet instantly. meh…

In any event… not even a full hour goes by and I get an email saying the app is live already. Huh? I don’t know how that happened. It says it passed several layers of testing and verification. Maybe it impressed someone and they wanted to release it as a showcase for their device? Nah… lol.. I’m assuming it was just lucky timing… or maybe no one is releasing apps on the Amazon app store anymore, which is probably the correct answer.

So just like that… Swan Song is available on 3 out of the 5 platforms that I had originally planned.

I really don’t know what’s going to happen over the next few months or so. This is the perfect time of the year to release an app. I really don’t expect any traction until probably heading into November.

The wife and I were discussing how things kind of fall into place for me. Looking back at my life, you can clearly see a pattern. Seems like every 6-8 years something “interesting” happens that ends up being fairly important financially. We’re just at the 7 year mark again… which is wild, because I certainly didn’t plan it out like this.

The software business is a young man’s game. Or more precisely, a young man’s team game. lol.. I have no idea what’s going to happen. A lot has changed the last 6-8 years in the app business.

I have zero expectations and I am completely aware I could end up not making a penny.

But… the app has proven that if the right eyeballs see it, there is definitely a market for it. It will be interesting to see if any organic growth occurs over the next few months.

I’m going to try to get a release ready for platforms #4 and #5. And then it’s back to fishin. 😉 lol..
