Swan Song Project Update #1

I just had an initial sales report delivered regarding a version of my Swan Song project that has been available for a short period of time on platform #1. (The goal is to release Swan Song on 5 different platforms this year in 2024.)

Initially going into this platform I wasn’t sure what to expect, but since I’ve always been a fan of their software (and hardware) regardless of sales, I wanted to work with them and possibly forge a long lasting relationship with the company. Hey.. even though I’m an old man now, it’s always good to think about long term possibilities. lol.. 😛

It’s A (small) Success!

I’m actually taken aback a bit, because I honestly didn’t know what to expect, but we’re not even done with the first quarter sales period and the app has already been purchased by literally 1000s of users! Obviously this may seem like a small number to larger companies, but for this old man and his one man band, this is fantastic news because it again solidifies that the project has potential when it’s presented to the correct target demographic.

What’s even more encouraging is, out of the 5 platforms I plan to release Swan Song on, this is easily the smallest of the potential user base. Of course this also means it will be harder to get eyeballs on the project as the platform size increases. But the meta-data again is so very encouraging. I just need to get the project in front of the right end user eyeballs.

The larger platforms are super competitive when it comes to acquiring new users, you can’t just list anything for free and expect a gold mine of users buying your product. I’m going to have to invest some money in a few ad campaigns this time around. Ultimately I’ll probably end up doing a lot of social media advertising + sponsored ads in the various app/software stores.

I only have a few months to prepare for the potentially lucrative Holiday season. But so far so good! 🙂

It’s going to be tough to find the time to work on everything, especially as the weather cools off. So many Disc Golf tournaments, so many big fish to catch during the Fall! lol..
