As I write this at 3:00am on 11/25/2024 it’s been about 8 weeks since my dual hernia operation. Physically I think I’m probably 90% recovered. There’s still some pain in my abdomen when I sneeze. I’m told this could go on for weeks or even months. Lovely. It’s so strange to not have to worry about pushing in my guts while I’m playing disc golf. Crazy I did that for almost 2 years. lol..
Meds? I thought I’d be on some anxiety meds by now, but as it turns out… a lot of the stress that I’ve been dealing with the past year has faded a bit. My blood pressure is still a bit high, but I’m controlling it better because I found out my salt to potassium levels were off. Bottom line, you need more potassium than salt, otherwise salt can build up and cause high blood pressure. 😉 My heart arrythmia is still there of course, so perhaps I’ll still look into that, but I absolutely hate the idea of taking ANY medication.
Disc Golf wise I’ve been ramping up a bit earlier than expected since the doc gave me the ok to start playing disc golf a little earlier. I’m now playing the game at the same intensity before my operation. I’m actually throwing the disc… as corny as it sounds… better than ever. More on that after my next tournament coming up later this week. Let’s see how that goes. lol..
Project wise.. “Swan Song” is way behind my self imposed release schedule. I have the app ready to go for the various platforms I want to release it on, but a few things have caused a delay. The first platform I released it on earlier this year to my surprise is having a much better reception than I anticipated. So I’ve been spending more time on that platform the past couple of months. An update for the app adding more content was just released so that should solidify it’s continued (knock on wood) success over the Holidays. And a new opportunity for the app has just magically appeared as well. Fingers crossed that works out! 🙂
Fishing? bummer.. I haven’t done any fishing at all since my surgery. I just didn’t have the motivation to do much and then when I started feeling better it was full speed ahead playing disc golf again. It’s amazing how much you miss the long walks around the course, throwing discs, just enjoying the scenery. Plus.. disc golf is how I lost all that weight so the subliminal need to keep that going is very strong. Still just insane how much I love fishing and how little fishing I actually do. 🙁
Music wise I haven’t made much progress on my new home studio. But I’ve been working on music weekly. Mainly in the shed while strumming my guitar and jamming on the drums. I have all the tunes ready to be laid down, it’s just a matter of time. Music is very similar to programming, you really have to dive in and hyperfocus and just keep working on it until it’s done. I’m hoping to dedicate a month or so in the near future to really jump start this project. It’s interesting to compare my old man singing voice to my younger singing voice. Due to expanding my head voice the past few years my range is actually higher now than it was in my 30s. lol.. My chest voice has changed the most, it definitely has a bit more texture on it, a slightly more weathered sound.
Well the 2024 election is over. Yes as you can probably tell by the image with this post I voted for Donald Trump…. again. I’ll keep this short and sweet. Like many people of course I have some issues about the man, but when it comes to running the country I only care about his policies and more importantly his results. I’m big on protecting our border, keeping our military strong, growing our economy and never appearing weak to our enemies and allies. President Trump is big on all of those policies. Easy enough.
The MunsieCade home arcade “room” is coming along nicely. I have 4 Arcade 1 Up cabinets, a racing PC system arcade with sit down chair and steering wheel (Cruisin Blast Arcade is fun!!) , another PC system arcade playing a bunch of games from my youth to the more current arcade games. This system also has 2 light guns so I can play some of those cool arcade games like Jurassic Park, Terminator Salvation, The Walking Dead, etc, at home. Yah… the grand kids love it. I just installed the guns a couple of weeks ago, maybe that’s where all my time has gone the past few weeks? nah… lol..
