Disc Golf Global Masters Rank

The PDGA started something pretty cool a couple of years ago. Along with having your monthly rating which rates your skills against anyone who plays disc golf in tournaments, they also started age protected rankings of your best 8 rounds of the year. So the best 8 rounds are rated against other players in your age group and then a world wide ranking is calculated. This ranking is updated 1-2 times a month and continues for the entire year.

Last year (2023) I came in 63rd place. 🙂 Check it out here.

One thing I’ve always had a bit of trouble with is my putting. If I may be so bold, my distance off the tee is very competitive, my upshots are decent, but my putting has always held me back. This year I am taking my disc golf career a bit more serious and I’m putting in the extra time needed to improve my putting. I’ve played in 9 tournaments so far in 2024 and in every one of those tournaments I’m still missing several putts from inside 20ft. If I would have made those putts my rating (and my global rank) would be a lot higher.

I’m currently ranked 84th in the world in my age division (60-64). My goal this year is 50th place or better. It’s going to be tough, but if I can improve my putting I think it’s very doable.

You can check out the current 2024 Global Masters Rank for my age division here.
