62 And Life To Go

I turned 62 years old in early March of 2025. So how does it feel to be 62? Let’s just say the mind feels much younger than the body. lol.. Even though I’m probably in the best shape since my 40s, I’m starting to feel closer to 60 than 40. It was a fantastic birthday to be honest. The wife and I enjoyed each other’s company, she made my favorite cake, we dined on carb infested deliciousness. 🙂

Looking back at my life, to be honest.. it’s been an incredible ride. While I’ve had many satisfying accomplishments in my life, it’s a bit perplexing for me to get a handle on what my goals and aspirations should be… at this point in my life. I tend to feel like… every day that goes by without trying to achieve something is a day wasted.

As mentioned in my previous blog (seriously…. 2 months ago?), I am primarily focusing on disc golf for 2025. A big part of that is because as it turns out, the more active I am, the better my heart cooperates. And I’m doing everything I can to not go on any meds. yah.. I know.. if you’ve read my blog, I should be on some form of beta blocker, anxiety med, etc, but ugh… just don’t like turning into a zombie. lol..

So let’s do a quick recap of how the past couple of months have gone in my disc golf career! If I had to define it in one word… it would be… “smokin!”. Yep… I am without a doubt playing the best disc golf of my life! As previously mentioned my ongoing goal is always to be in the top 50 amateur disc golf players in my age group (60-64). Last year I ended up being in 73rd place. This year so far… I am actually currently (as I post this) sitting at #3! Yep…it feels pretty good to be at #3 right now… sure that’s going to change over the next few weeks, but I’m off to a great start. I have some really big tournaments coming up, so I’m hoping I can keep the momentum going. And btw… it’s all owed to spending more and time working on my putting. Everything else is pretty much where it needs to be, so I’m mainly focusing on putting in my practice time.

The home music studio is also in my cross hairs. I’ve been doing research for all the digital instruments I’ll be using. The biggest dilemma is if I want to use an electronic drum kit, or mic up my acoustic kit. If I use an electronic kit I’ll have literally 100s of drums sets, 1000s of drums, percussion, etc, to choose from plus the recording process will already be done. yah… I probably just answered my own question. lol..

Not feeling to excited about project swan song anymore. It’s definitely on a holding pattern due to how the Google Play Store has added new criteria about privacy in regards to smaller developers. yah.. I could just sell the project and let someone else market it. I might go down that route… but my ego is just too big to let anyone else succeed or fail with my work. hmm…

ok, Hopefully we’ll get some fishing posts up here soon! It’s long past due! But for now… big tournament this weekend, an even bigger one in a few weeks and then a HUGE one in a few months! lol.. Time to focus on a bit more disc golf. 😉
